Illinois Business Consulting Student Leadership Team


Illinois Business Consulting is student led and student driven. Students apply for the leadership positions and are selected based on their prior IBC experience, work experience, project management skills, leadership capabilities and interpersonal communication skills.

The Student Leadership Team is responsible for running the consulting operation, staffing the projects and performing key marketing, operations and training activities. Student Senior Managers are responsible for ensuring the successful execution of the client projects under their supervision.

Sunil V. Rajan – Student Executive Director
Sunil graduated from the Coventry University, UK in 2004 with a bachelor's degree in Software Engineering. He is currently pursuing an MBA in Technology and Operations. Prior to joining the Illinois MBA program, he worked at Toyota’s European headquarters as an Information Systems Specialist responsible for the development and implementation of financial applications for the manufacturing businesses. He has also worked as a Software Engineer for Waitrose PLC, UK – a leading British retail company, responsible for the implementation of knowledge bases and performance enhancement of Java applications. Last year, Sunil led and was involved in two IBC projects for a Fortune 10 client in the area of IT vendor management. Currently Sunil is furthering his consulting experience by working as an intern with Cisco Systems in its Advanced Services (consulting) business unit.

Ross Clover – Operations Manager
Ross graduated from Loyola University Chicago in 2007 with a bachelor’s of science in Biology.  He is currently completing his second year of his MBA, emphasizing in Finance.  Ross started working with IBC as a consultant in 2007 and was promoted to Project Manager, where he oversaw two IBC projects in the spring of 2008.  During this past summer, he worked as a strategy consultant intern for Allstate Insurance.  Ross plans to pursue a career in investments after graduating in May.  

Nathan Y. Brown – Marketing Manager
Nathan graduated from the University of Illinois in 2007 receiving a bachelor’s degree with High Honors in Agribusiness (Markets and Management). Nathan is now pursuing a MBA in Marketing and Sales with interests in General Management as well as operations. He is also very involved with several campus organizations and serves as an advisor as well. Nathan has experienced two corporate internships in the agribusiness sector and looks forward to working in this sector for his career.

Stephanie Jones – Training Manager
Stephanie is majoring in Chemical Engineering with a minor in Technology and Management at the University of Illinois.  She will be graduating with her Bachelor of Science degree in December 2008. Stephanie joined IBC in Fall of 2007 and worked as a senior consultant on a project for the graduate college at the University of Illinois. As senior manager in the spring, Stephanie oversaw three project including an international marketing based project as well as two university affiliated projects. Last summer, Stephanie was an analyst intern in the Human Capital practice with Mercer in Chicago.

Aarti Ranganathan – Senior Manager
Aarti is an engineer from Anna University, one of the oldest universities in India. She specialized in Electronics and Communications, and went on to work as a consultant with TechMahindra Ltd (formerly called Mahindra British Telecom). She is currently pursuing her MBA, with a dual concentration of Operations and General Management. She has been with IBC for over a year, has worked on a couple of projects, and is currently a Senior Manager. For the summer, she is interning with Sears Holdings Corp., with the Kmart Store Operations department, wherein she is involved in weak store analysis and strategy.

Jagdamba Seth - Senior Manager
Jagdamba graduated from the University of Mumbai in 2004 with a Bachelor of Engineer degree in Computer Science. She is currently enrolled in the Illinois MBA program. Prior to this, Jagdamba worked for three years as a Software Consultant with Hexaware Technologies, a leading IT services company in India, providing PeopleSoft Solutions to various multinational clients. Last year, Jagdamba worked on four IBC projects, two as a part of the strategic initiative committee at IBC.  This summer she interned with the Program Management Office of Sears Holding Corporation in Hoffman Estates, IL.

Avinash Kopparthi – Senior Manager
Avinash graduated from the University of Illinois in May of 2008 with a bachelor’s degree in Organizational Communication. He is currently pursuing a Master’s in Human Resources and Industrial Relations through the Institute of Labor and Industrial Relations. Last year Avinash worked on a year-long project as both a consultant and project manager, developing a green strategy for a Fortune 10 company. This past spring and summer, Avinash worked as a research assistant on the GroupScope project for the National Center for Supercomputing Applications where he assisted in the design of coding and observational systems.

Jasen Schrock – Senior Manager
Jasen is a second year MBA student with a focus in marketing and general management. He came to Urbana-Champaign from Chicago where for the last 12 years he worked as a real estate consultant and professional musician, singer and actor. Originally from Grand Rapids, MI, he attended Kalamazoo College where he graduated with a double major in Political Science and Theater. In the spring of 2007, he worked as a consultant with IBC to develop stategic analysis of the Chinese Automobile Industry and potential market penetration for a US parts supplier. This past summer, he interned at Procter & Gamble in Cincinnati, Ohio in the North America - Market Development Organization. His specific projects involved expatriate optimization analysis and employment law policy changes.

Fraser Kinnear - Senior Manager
Fraser Kinnear is a senior undergraduate student in the College of Business, studying to earn a dual-degree in Accounting and Finance. He is working for KPMG in their Transaction Services Advisory unit the summer before his senior year. Fraser is very active in both his fraternity, Sigma Phi Epsilon, as well as the organization Entrepreneurs Without Borders, working to teach students at the University of Illinois as well as students from other universities in developing countries the skills necessary to become successful entrepreneurs. Fraser will also be a teaching assistant for a business class this fall. Fraser has worked on three IBC projects, leading one as a project manager.

Kristy Kuzmuk – Senior Manager
Kristy graduated from the University of Illinois in 2002 with a bachelor's degree and in 2005 with a master’s degree in Animal Sciences. She is currently completing research towards a PhD and pursuing an MBA in General Management.  Over the summer, Kristy explored the intersection of science and business as an intern for the $1 billion life science venture capital firm, Burrill and Company in San Francisco.  Last year, Kristy led IBC projects in both the academic and private sector.  In addition, she is currently working with professors at the University of Illinois to investigate University-Industry interactions and exploring innovative business models to commercialize university technology.

Dan Wenhold - Senior Manager
Dan is currently an undergraduate senior at the University of Illinois and pursuing a degree in Finance with a minor in Technology & Management. He will graduate in May 2009. Last year, Dan worked on projects during both semesters with clients such as The Abraham Lincoln Bicentennial Commission and Sears Holding Corporation. This summer, Dan is continuing to gain knowledge in the financial sector by working as an analyst intern with Deutsche Bank's Investment Banking group in Chicago.

Megha Gahlot – Senior Manager
Megha graduated in 2005 with an Engineering degree specializing in Information Technology. She is currently pursuing an MBA in Marketing & IT. Prior to joining the Illinois MBA program, she worked for HCL Technologies to deliver Enterprise Content Management solutions for a variety of clients in different industries. This summer, Megha furthered her business experience by working as an intern with the Sun-Times News Group in its Interactive Media Services business unit.

Roselyne Yao – Senior Manager, Voitik Memorial Scholarship
Roselyne graduated from the Université d’Auvergne (France) in 2003 with a DEUG in Economics and Management, and then from Boston University in 2006 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (concentrating in Finance and International Management). She is currently pursuing an MBA in Finance and Marketing. Prior to joining the Illinois MBA program, she worked for the Joseph M. Smith Community Health Center on their expansion and relocation strategy; Prisma Microfinance, Inc. on the launch of their MicroCapital Monitor industry report; Eduventures, LLC., a consulting company focusing on the Education industry; and MIT’s Controller’s Accounting Office. Over the summer, she worked at Walden Asset Management in Boston, supporting the Social Research and Advocacy Team with a focus on Small-Cap companies.  Roselyne joined IBC last Spring 2008 and worked on a project to assist a tire dealer with inventory and accounts receivable management. As the Voitik Memorial Scholarship Senior Manager, Roselyne will focus on entrepreneurial  projects.

Umair Hussain - Senior Manager
Umair is a senior pursuing a dual degree in Accountancy and Finance at the University of Illinois graduating in December 2008. Umair joined IBC Fall 2007 and worked on a project where he conducted financial due diligence of an acquisition of a consumer product wholesale distributor. He worked at Huron Consulting Group where he was part of the Financial and Economic Practice and focused on valuation and econometric analysis of clients in litigation. Umair has also been an Investment Analyst Intern at Allstate Financial.

Joshua Shenton - Senior Manager
Joshua graduated from the University of Maryland in 2006 with a bachelor's degree in Accounting.  He is currently pursuing an MBA with a dual concentration in Finance and General Management.  Prior to joining the Illinois MBA program, he worked for Trane International to provide financial reporting and forecasting for one of the leading competitors in the HVAC industry.  Last year, Joshua worked on three IBC projects involving financial modeling and analysis.  Last summer, Joshua furthered his experience in consulting working for Reznick Group as an intern in audit and finance management, and will soon sit for the CPA examination.

Lucas McIntosh - Senior Project Manager
Lucas graduated from Washington University in St. Louis in 2000 with a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering. He is currently pursuing a joint Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering and MBA at the University of Illinois. Prior to joining the Illinois MBA program, he worked for Lockheed Martin as an Engineer designing structures and mechanisms for space launch vehicles and conducted bioengineering research in the College of Engineering. Last year, Lucas participated in an IBC project to develop a business plan for a small internet communications company. Last summer, Lucas gained valuable IT solution development experience by working as an intern with State Farm Insurance in its Systems division, one of the largest IT organizations in the country.
